How to Remember Important Concepts
The most important part in remembering concepts is to understand them first. Then make notes out of what you understand and then organise that information in a flow chart for quick recall.
There can be various methods which can be used to remember important concepts. Let’s see a few of them :
● Write and Learn – This method requires you to write the information to remember it easily. It leads to better retention and understanding of the information. It will make you reframe the information in your own words which will aid in easy recall.
● Storytelling – NEET This method can significantly boost your memory, as it encourages you to establish strong connection with the learnt information.
● paced repetition – This method involves reviewing the same information at increasing intervals until it is embedded in your long term memory.
● Flash cards – You can use flashcards with fun angle or images related to the information and then review them daily. With time, you can increase the gap between reviews from daily to weekly or fortnightly.
● Reciting – It is a fast method as it makes you actively engage with the information, thus increasing your ability to remember it.
● Sharing – When you share the information or teach it to someone else, you will explain it on your own words which will in turn help you in learning it by heart.
● Exercise and Sleep – There is direct correlation between these two and your productivity. Regular exercise and proper sleep can boost your memory and thus extend your ability to grasp the information better.
● Acronyms – In this method, you create a new word or group of words by taking the first letter of your concepts information and putting them together. For eg. ROY G BIV is an acronym to remember the Rainbow colours.
● Music or Rhyming Mnemonics – It is easier to remember a song rather than a long string of words, so pairing your information with a tune, can help you remember it easily. Or you can put the information in such a manner that it rhymes well for easy recall.
● Chunking- This method involves grouping individual string of numbers into larger and memorable groups.
To conclude, the best method of remembering the concepts is to understand them really well and then read them aloud to learn and put them in your permanent memory.
