Why do Students Fail to Clear the NEET Exam?

Pre boards play an important role in assessment of your academic progress and serve as a wake up call, prompting you to focus on your weak areas. Generally, schools set Preboards at a high difficulty level so that students don’t get overconfident. It is observed, that if you prepare really well for your Preboards and score whatever percentage, you are expected to score 5-7% higher than that in your actual Board exams.

So, the following steps can be a roadmap for you to plan your preparation for your upcoming Preboards:

● Maintain a stress free and health conscious routine – Keep yourself mentally and physically healthy. Focus on your sleep routines and take regular breaks to keep yourself motivated.

● Understand the exam pattern – Be updated about the number and type of questions, weightage of chapters and marking scheme followed in the exam.

● Plan your study schedule – Make a time management chart and follow it religiously to complete the entire syllabus in time. You must take note of your strengths and weaknesses while making your study plan, so that there are minimum changes.

● NCERT – Your NCERT’s and Exemplar are the best books for your preparation. You must cover them 3-4 times and practise every question in writing before moving to any other reference book.

● Sample papers – After thorough coverage of the syllabus, you need to practise the sample papers in writing and within the exam duration to gain speed and accuracy both.

● Writing skills – When you cover the syllabus or revise it, always make sure to practise each question in writing. When you do every question 3-4 times, it will develop your writing skills which are a must to extract the maximum marks out of the examiner.

● Doubts clearing and Motivation – Regular doubt clearance will not only make your concepts strong but also keep you motivated as you will be confident about your preparation.

Remember that the Preboards will serve as a dress rehearsal for your Board exams. So take them seriously and give your best efforts for scoring high. Only then, you will know your strengths and weakness and can improve upon them to take the Board exams with full confidence.
